We Will Rock You

From London’s West End, the worldwide smash hit musical by Queen and Ben Elton comes to Minneapolis for a limited engagement! We Will Rock You features the greatest hits of the legendary British rock group, Queen. Now in its 11th year in London and seen by a staggering 15 million people worldwide, this hilarious, multiaward-winning and record-breaking phenomenon boasts a fantastic score including “Another One Bites the Dust,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “We Are the Champions,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and, of course, “We Will Rock You.” It’s the world champion of musicals and the show that rocks harder than any other, so don’t miss the party! Tickets: $86

Evita

Evita, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award-winning musical returns at last! Eva Perón used her beauty and charisma to rise meteorically from the slums of Argentina to the presidential mansion as First Lady. Adored by her people as a champion for the poor, she became one of the most powerful women in the world — while her greed, outsized ambition and fragile health made her one of the most tragic.

Evita tells Eva’s passionate and unforgettable true story, and features some of theater’s most beautiful songs, including “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” "Another Suitcase in Another Hall" and "High Flying, Adored." Don’t miss the stunning new production of Evita, directed by Michael Grandage and choreographed by Rob Ashford, that Channel 4 New York calls “the hottest ticket in town!" Tickets: $91

Peter and the Starcatcher, the most magical evening of madcap fun is now on tour! Hailed by The New York Times as "the most exhilarating storytelling on Broadway in decades," this musical play takes a hilarious romp through the Neverland you never knew. The winner of 5 Tony Awards®, this swashbuckling prequel to Peter Pan will have you hooked from the moment you let your imagination take flight. The most Tony-Award® nominated new American play, Entertainment Weekly calls Peter and the Starcatcher, "an absurdly funny fantastical journey." Tickets: $81
Winner of eight 2012 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Once is a truly original Broadway experience. Featuring an impressive ensemble of actor/musicians who play their own instruments onstage, Once tells the enchanting tale of a Dublin street musician who’s about to give up on his dream when a beautiful young woman takes a sudden interest in his haunting love songs. As the chemistry between them grows, his music soars to powerful new heights…but their unlikely connection turns out to be deeper and more complex than your everyday romance. Emotionally captivating and theatrically breathtaking, Once draws you in from the very first note and never lets go. It’s an unforgettable story about going for your dreams…not living in fear…and the power of music to connect all of us. Tickets: $86
Sister Act is Broadway’s feel-amazing musical comedy smash! The New York Post calls it “ridiculously fun,” and audiences are jumping to their feet in total agreement! Featuring original music by 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors), Sister Act tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look—a convent! Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, Sister Act is reason to rejoice! Tickets: $86
Relive the iconic and magical moments from the Oscar-winning movie Ghost in a brand-new Broadway musical. Ghost The Musical breathes glorious new life into a timeless love story. The musical features an original pop score from multiple Grammy Award-winners Dave Stewart, one half of the 80s pop duo the Eurythmics, and Glen Ballard, co-writer with Alanis Morissette on the multi-platinum album Jagged Little Pill, among many other notable credits and collaborations. The musical’s tale of everlasting love is thrilling entertainment for audiences of all ages. Tickets: $86
Cameron Mackintosh presents Les Misérables, with glorious new staging and dazzlingly reimagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo. This new production has been acclaimed by critics, fans and new audiences and is breaking box office records wherever it goes. The New York Times calls this Les Misérables “splendidly reworked, thrilling and unforgettable. An unquestionably spectacular production from start to finish.” The London Times hails the new show “a five star hit, astonishingly powerful.” The Chicago Tribune says this Les Misérables is a “grand theatrical sweep for a new generation of fans.” Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, Les Misérables is an epic and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit. Tickets: $127-$91
Back by popular demand, Entertainment Weekly calls Wicked "the best musical of the decade" and when it played Minneapolis it broke box office records and sold out in record time. Wicked is the winner of 35 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards. Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One—born with emerald green skin—is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good makes for "the most complete, and completely satisfying, new musical in a long time" (USA Today). Tickets: $156-$91
Coming on the heels of our popular and critically acclaimed production of Aida, Broadway Re-Imagined returns to the Pantages Theatre with a dynamic and provocative staging of Kander & Ebb’s groundbreaking musical, Cabaret. Produced by Theater Latté Da and Hennepin Theatre Trust, Broadway Re-Imagined taps the strengths of both organizations and Twin Cities’ talent to create innovative stagings of the musicals you know and love. Classic songs like “Willkommen,” “Maybe This Time,” “Money” and, of course, “Cabaret” take you inside the heart of 1930s Berlin to experience the freespirited decadence and heartbreaking desire that is CABARET! Tickets: $51-$43
Following an acclaimed sell-out tour of the United Kingdom, Cameron Mackintosh’s spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s phenomenal musical success, The Phantom of the Opera, will make its premiere in Minneapolis as part of a brand new US National Tour. Hailed as “stunning, intense and spectacular” by the Sunday Express, this production features a brilliant new design by Paul Brown, costumes by the much missed Maria Björnson, a new staging by Laurence Connor – director of the recent acclaimed 25th anniversary celebration at the Royal Albert Hall – and new choreography by Scott Ambler. The production is overseen by Matthew Bourne and Cameron Mackintosh. Tickets: $91

Donor Program FAQs

Why support Hennepin Theatre Trust?
Your contributions empower the Trust to transform our city into an inspiring and vibrant arts community. Whether it’s through arts education, access opportunities, or our historic theaters that offer the very best in Broadway locally, all of our efforts to enliven downtown Minneapolis and our community are directly supported by your generous donations.

Ticket sales and other earned income sources only cover a portion of our total operating budget. Donor support enables us to engage our community with programs that educate, inform and entertain, as well as program our stages with a broad array of performing arts events from musical theatre to concerts, lectures and comedians.

What are the benefits of being a Trust donor?
To honor your generous investment in Hennepin Theatre Trust, we provide an exclusive set of benefits and privileges throughout the year. At select levels, Trust donors receive access to concierge ticketing, premium seating locations, backstage events and a host of other unique opportunities. Be sure to review our benefit levels to find which contirubtion amount is best for you.

Can I purchase tickets to the 2013-14 Broadway Season now if I’m a donor?
Yes – active donors at a minimum of the Associate Level ($250-499) have the opportunity to purchase up to two tickets to every Broadway production in our upcoming 2013-14 season. Higher donation levels provide even greater access to tickets and other exclusive benefits, including concierge ticketing for all performances at our four theatres—the historic Orpheum, State, Pantages and New Century Theatres located on the main floor of City Center. How do I order my tickets as a donor?
Donors receive first notice about upcoming events at our theatres via email and have the opportunity to purchase tickets through their personal online account, known as the Donor Green Room. All ticket orders are individually serviced and filled by a member of our Donor Relations Team, who is available by e-mail and phone for any questions.

As a donor, can I purchase additional tickets after the public on sale?
If available, donors are always welcome to purchase additional tickets after they go on sale to the public by contacting us directly with a request.

What fees are incurred by buying tickets as a donor?
We always provide donors with the lowest price available for single tickets at the time of purchase. A $2 fee applies to each ticket purchased by donors to offset transaction and credit card fees incurred by our nonprofit. Donors incur no additional costs on any tickets they purchase through our donor program.

Where are donor seats located?
For each show, donor seats are filled beginning with donors at the Guarantor ($10,000+) Level. Our Donor Relations Team always selects the best seats available according to the specific donor request. Donors can typically expect to sit in the first half of the main floor and front balcony.

What is the difference between becoming a Trust donor and a Trust subscriber?
Trust donors make tax-deductible contributions to the Trust, supporting our nonprofit community programs, in addition to their ticket purchases. All the funds from these donations go directly back to our nonprofit. To show our appreciation for their support, our organization provides donors with a special set of benefits, exclusive to donors.

One of these benefits is concierge ticketing, which provides donors with the ability to purchase single tickets in donor-only seating locations before the general public. Concierge ticketing provides donors the flexibility of purchasing tickets to the shows they like, on the dates and locations they prefer for each show. Donors have access to both Broadway and non-Broadway pre-sale tickets at select levels.

How do I become a Trust donor?
Becoming a donor to the Trust is easy and gratifying. Interested patrons may donate online, by phone or mail. Once your donation is received, you will have immediate access to all donor benefits, including concierge ticketing.
