Accounting/Administration Internship

To provide undergraduates and recent graduates an opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the theatre industry.
Overview
Hennepin Theatre Trust, owner of the historic State, Orpheum and Pantages Theatres, is a non-profit organization devoted to enriching the vibrant cultural atmosphere of the Twin Cities. The Trust’s programs include Broadway touring productions, the SpotLight Musical Theatre Program for high schools, Critical View student reviewer program, Teen Ushers, the Access Program and Kids’ Night.
Internships are available throughout the year and typically run anywhere from six to 12 weeks. There are occasional openings for shorter or longer periods than this, depending on the needs of each department. Interns will work with the staff, observing practical applications of skills required in specific areas and applying those skills to assigned projects. Every effort will be made to make internships a valuable educational experience. However, interns will also be expected to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.
The internship is an unpaid position. Complimentary tickets to a variety of Broadway shows, music, dance and variety entertainment will be made available to interns whenever possible.
Time Commitment
Approximately 15 hours per week. Duration of internship depends on the project.
Necessary Skills
Background knowledge of finance, computer proficiency and self-motivated.
What to Expect
The accounting/administrative intern will be responsible for determining the feasibility of utilizing the Pantages Theatre as home for theatre companies rather than solely as a rental venue. They will gain knowledge of the theatre industry and participate in compilation of financial data and analysis, research and logistical analysis.
