VII Deadly Sins

With a theme of “Seven Deadly Sins,” students directed, produced, sang and acted in songs and scenes from classic musicals to original productions. It featured 14 students from Andover, Benilde-St. Margaret’s (St. Louis Park), Blaine, Champlin Park, Chanhassen, Chaska, Columbia Heights, Edina, Hill-Murray (Maplewood), Jefferson (Bloomington), Maple Grove, Minnetonka, St. Francis and Southwest (Minneapolis) High School.

Participating students included Amelia Bolstad, Caleb Craig, Ryan Fargo, Larissa Grundmanis, Lisa Hanson, Leigh Jacobson, Lexi Johnson, Jennifer Kuberka, Adam Meyer, Noah Nieting, Abilene Olson, Kayla Peters, Brandon Reger and Linnea Valdivia.

The students were able to receive a master class with Stephen DeRosa and Ali Ewoldt from the touring cast of West Side Story prior to the launch of their performance.

The SpotLight Cabaret Series is part of Hennepin Theatre Trust’s SpotLight Musical Theatre Program, supporting the work of Minnesota high schools that present musical theatre. The cabaret series is a hands-on performing experience open to all participants in the SpotLight Musical Theatre Program.
