Marion Ross was born on Oct. 25, 1928 in Watertown, Minnesota. She grew up in Waconia and her family later moved to Albert Lea where she attended high school. Following her sophomore year in high school, Ross came to Minneapolis and worked as an au pair to be able to take a drama course at MacPhail Center for the Arts (now MacPhail Center for Music). During her junior year, she attended Southwest High School before the family moved to San Diego. Ross was nominated for two Emmy awards for her acting in “Happy Days” and her 60-year career includes work on Broadway, in motion pictures and on television.
