There is much more to a musical than the song and dance onstage – musicals ask profound questions and provide a glimpse into American history and culture. Broadway Confidential is a FREE series of engagements, designed by Hennepin Theatre Trust, to answer these questions and provide a deeper understanding of the material you see onstage. Speaker: War Horse cast member, Rob Laqui Rob is an actor/dancer who was born and raised in Minnesota and now plays Joey, the main horse in the touring production of War Horse. There are three puppeteers who collaborate to bring the large horses (Joey, Topthorn) to life through their breath and non-verbal communication. The three roles are The Head, the Heart and the Hind. Rob’s role is the “Hind” of Joey. Rob was born in St. Louis Park 1978 and grew up in Edina where he attended school at Our Lady of Grace and then went to St. Thomas Academy (graduating in 1996) in Mendota Heights. He went to St. Mary's University (graduating in 2000) in Winona and soon after moved to New York City in 2000. |
