Carol Burnett, the six-time Emmy Award-winning actress, will appear in an audience interactive program “Laughter and Reflection with Carol Burnett: A Conversation with Carol Where the Audience Asks the Questions.” Burnett’s off-the-cuff conversation with the audience is a format that grew out of the question-and-answer sessions she shared with her studio audience on each episode of “The Carol Burnett Show.” This return appearance follows a sold out April 2010 engagement at the State Theatre.
In April, Simon & Schuster will publish Burnett’s new book, "Carrie and Me: A Mother-Daughter Love Story," a tribute to her late daughter, Carrie Hamilton. Two previous books, "One More Time" and "This Time Together: Laughter and Reflection," were both New York Times best-sellers. "The Carol Burnett Show" debuted in 1967 and ran for 11 seasons, garnering 25 Emmy Awards with its mix of comedy sketches, movie parodies, and off-beat characters she created with an all-star ensemble including Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence, and Lyle Waggoner.
Burnett’s versatility has earned her broad recognition for her dramatic abilities as well as for her comedic and musical talents. She moves easily from the Broadway stage to television, film and music specials. In addition to being a best-selling author and a Grammy nominee, she is a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors, The Presidential Medal of Freedom and numerous industry awards.
