Ed Sheeran is the hot, chart-topping singer/songwriter whose hit 2011 single "The A Team" debuted at #3 on the UK charts. The flame haired musician has been making the rounds of the late night talk shows and his "You Need Me, I Don’t Need You," gained more than 500,000 viewers on YouTube. After moving to Los Angeles and playing open mics all over the city, the eclectic artist attracted the attention of actor and R&B star Jamie Foxx, who let him use his studio. He later signed with Elton John's management company and recently opened for Snow Patrol at the State Theatre in April. In 2012, Sheeran was nominated for four Brit Awards, winning two for British Breakthrough Act and British Solo Male Artist. His CD "+" will be released in the U.S. on June 12. Born in Halifax, England, he learned guitar at a young age and moved to London in 2008 to begin playing gigs, "as many as he could and as often as he could." After releasing several EPs including "No. 5 Collaborations," which featured UK hip hop artists Devlin, JME and Wiley, the support propelled his work to #2 on the iTunes album chart after just one day. He became only the third artist to score a Top 75 album purely on download sales. In June 2011, his single, "The A Team," was released as a digital download in the UK followed by the album "+" in September. RWD Magazine raved, "Sheeran can write a song that reaches inside your chest, grabs your heart and squeezes so hard water pops out of your eye."
