Steve Martin, the multi-talented Grammy and Emmy Award-winning actor, comedian and musician, will perform "An Evening of Music and Comedy" with the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Brickell. Martin’s first bluegrass album, "The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo," (2009 on Rounder Records), stayed at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Album chart for 12 weeks and was awarded the Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album in 2010. The Steep Canyon Rangers’s "Nobody Knows You" recently won the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album.
Edie Brickell, the alternative singer/songwriter, is perhaps best known for her work with the Texas rock jam band The New Bohemians. Their 1988 hit, "What I Am," peaked at #7 on the U.S. Billboard charts.
In 2003, Martin won a Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumentalist for his playing on Earl Scruggs 75th Anniversary album. Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers also released "Rare Bird Alert" in 2011.
Steve Martin won an Emmy Award for his work on the 1960s hit series "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" and made frequent appearances on Johnny Carson’s "Tonight Show." He gained special attention as a "Wild and Crazy Guy" with Dan Aykroyd on "Saturday Night Live" and drew standing room only crowds touring some of the largest venues in the country. Martin is perhaps best known for his work in film, including comedies "The Jerk," "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" and “Father of the Bride” to such dramas as "L.A. Story" and "Shopgirl." He has hosted the Academy Awards three times, is a frequent contributor to The New Yorker and The New York Times and earned Kennedy Center Honors in 2007.
