The Swell Season

The Swell Season, the Oscar-winning duo of Frames frontman Glen Hansard and Czech ingénue Marketa Irglova, are preparing to release a brand new album,Strict Joy, (available September 29 on Anti- Records), the follow-up to their beloved, surprise hit 2007 film and gold-certified soundtrack Once.

The tour will feature new tunes along with music from the Oncesoundtrack and fan favorites from Glen’s ongoing collaborations with his band The Frames.

The Swell Season generated a wave of acclaim during the 2008 awards season including two Grammy nominations and an Oscar win for Best Original Song, for their hit single “Falling Slowly.” That song was also a winner of Best Song at the Critic’s Choice Awards, and the movie Oncepicked up the Best Foreign Film award at the Film Independent’s Spirit Awards. The success of ‘Once’ also led to a sold-out world tour for The Swell Season, which was captured for an upcoming documentary.
