Platinum Selling Vocalist Tony Sandler Celebrates Christmas and Valentine’s Day with Holiday Shows at the Pantages and State Theatre in 2010 and 2011

MINNEAPOLIS—Tony Sandler, the platinum-selling vocalist and charismatic entertainer best known as the dynamic half of the sensational Las Vegas duo Sandler and Young, brings holiday shows to Hennepin Theatre Trust’s Pantages and State Theatre in 2010-11. Accompanied by his four piece musical ensemble, the November 28 Pantages Theatre show, “Tony Sandler–Suddenly It’s Christmas,” will feature holiday classics, while his February 12 State Theatre show, “Tony Sandler Live,” will celebrate Valentine’s Day with some of the most romantic songs ever written including “If You Go Away” and “Marieke.” Tickets for both shows go on sale tomorrow, Friday, May 21, at 10 a.m. Both shows are presented by Huber Entertainment Group; Robert Huber, Producer. Originally from Belgium, Tony Sandler began singing as a boy with the French Gregorian choir Les Petits Chanteurs à la Croix de Bois, which performed at the Basilica of St. Peter for Pope Pius XII. After recording his first hit, “Song of the Sea,” in 1954 while serving in the Belgian Air Force, Sandler became a stage, television and a film star throughout Europe before coming to the United States. He is best known for his work in the famous Sandler and Young duo, formed with American vocalist Ralph Young. They became one of the hottest acts in Vegas and show business with frequent appearances on Johnny Carson, Ed Sullivan, Dean Martin and Merv Griffin shows. Sandler starred in the television special “Tony Sandler’s Holiday Greetings” which will be re-broadcast this Christmas on PBS and his most recent CD, “Simply Tony,” featuring a short collection of American standards, was released on the Butterfly Records label in 2008.

Tickets for both shows go on sale tomorrow, Friday, May 21, at 10 a.m. and range from $39.50 to $45 depending on seating preference. All prices include applicable facility fees.
