Wicked Day of Show Ticket Lotteries for $25 Seats

MINNEAPOLIS—The Wicked touring company and Hennepin Theatre Trust are pleased to announce that a lottery for a limited number of seats will be held daily for each performance of Wicked during the Minneapolis run August 11–September 19. Each day, 2 ½ hours prior to show time, patrons who come to the Orpheum Theatre Box Office (910 Hennepin Avenue, Mpls., 55403) will enter their names, and thirty minutes later a drawing will be held for a limited number of seats to the next performance. Tickets will be $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. Winners (with valid photo I.D.) must be present when their names are called or they will forfeit their tickets. Wicked is presented by Hennepin Theatre Trust as a special addition to its 2010/11 Broadway Across America-Minneapolis Season. Good seats are still available to Wicked. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One – born with emerald green skin – is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. Wicked tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. Based on the 1995 best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Winnie Holzman, Wicked is directed by 2003 and 2004 Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello and features musical staging by Tony Award-winner Wayne Cilento.

Good seats are still available to Wicked. Single tickets are on sale now and range from $153.50 to $38 (subject to change) depending on performance time and seating preference. All prices include applicable facility fees. Additional charges may apply. Hennepin Theatre Trust strongly recommends purchasing only from authorized ticket outlets. Tickets may be purchased in person at the State Theatre Box Office (805 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, 55402), online at HennepinTheatreTrust.org, or through Ticketmaster by calling 1.800.982.2787 or visiting a Ticketmaster Ticket Center. Performance times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. There will also be a matinee performance on Thursday, August 12 at 2 p.m.
