Spring Awakening, the Eight-time Tony Award-winning Musical, Returns to the Orpheum Theatre, Nov. 6–7

MINNEAPOLIS—Spring Awakening, the eight-time Tony Award-winning musical, will return to Hennepin Theatre Trust’s Orpheum Theatre for a limited engagement of two performances only at 8 p.m, Saturday, Nov. 6 and 6:30 p.m., Sunday Nov. 7, 2010. Based on the 1891 Frank Wedekind play, tickets for this landmark musical go on sale at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 17. Spring Awakening features an electrifying score by Duncan Sheik, book and lyrics by Steven Sater and original direction and choreography by Michael Mayer and the award-winning Bill T. Jones respectively. Broadway direction and choreography will be recreated by Lucy Skilbeck and JoAnn M. Hunter. Set against the backdrop of a repressive and provincial late 19th century Germany, Spring Awakening follows a group of young students as they navigate through teenage self-discovery and

Single tickets for Spring Awakening go on sale at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 and range from $15 to $60 depending on performance time and seating preference.
