WHAT: The SpotLight Showcase combines performances and awards to celebrate the finest musical theatre students of the year from a record 56 Minnesota high schools as part of Hennepin Theatre Trust’s 2011/12 SpotLight Musical Theatre Program.

• Nearly 1,000 of Minnesota’s best young actors take the Orpheum Theatre stage to dance and sing in medleys from musicals including The Book of Mormon, Legally Blonde, Beauty and the Beast and Hairspray
• Broadway vocalist/actress and SpotLight spokesperson Linda Eder performs “Something to Believe In” with the Top 24 Triple Threat Award student finalists
• Almost 600 musical theatre students will receive awards in front of a sold-out house of 2,600 people
