Join us during the Minneapolis run of Blue Man Group to sample ethnic cuisine and tasty desserts from 12 local food trucks!
From June 15-24, Hennepin Theatre Trust invites you to sample anything from Vietnamese-style banh-mi sandwiches from YumMi to Ethiopian cuisine from She Royal Deli as part of Taste-It Hennepin, a new summer event to further revitalize Hennepin Avenue. About 1 ½ hours before each show until approximately one hour after each show, between two and four food and dessert trucks will be parked west of the National Camera Exchange building, north of Hennepin Avenue on 10th Street. Food will not be available on Monday, June 18 (no performance) or after 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 24.
The mix of food will vary from show to show but other participating vendors will include A Cupcake Social, Sandy’s Italian Ice, House of Hunger, Taqueria La Hacienda, Barrio, Simply Steve’s, Stanley’s, Cupcake, Vellee Deli and Tollefson Family Grill.
Taste-It Hennepin, like the recent Talk-It Hennepin series, is part of the broader Plan-It Hennepin, a year-long initiative to re-imagine Hennepin Avenue as a revitalized cultural corridor from the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden to the Mississippi River. The project is led by partners Hennepin Theatre Trust, Walker Art Center, Artspace and the City of Minneapolis and funded by a National Endowment for the Arts "Our Town" grant. Increasing the number and diversity of food options has often been mentioned during the planning process as an idea to continue to enliven Hennepin Avenue.
