Hennepin Theatre Trust is proud to present the all new SpotLight Alumni Network. Previous SpotLight students are given the opportunity to reconnect and share their stories and experiences both during and after their involvement with the SpotLight Program. This network is open to all graduated SpotLight students.

The SpotLight Musical Theatre Program is the flagship educational initiative of Hennepin Theatre Trust and a key educational element in our work that provides support and training to young people who will carry the performing arts into the future. This year, 56 high schools from around the state will partcipate in SpotLight. You can download the list here.

We are thrilled to welcome back Minnesota native and Broadway actress/vocalist Linda Eder as spokesperson for the 2011-2012 school year!

Save the Date! The 2012 SpotLight Showcase will return to the Orpheum Theatre on Monday, June 11, 2012.

Christopher Sieber is a native Minnesotan on tour with La Cage Aux Folles, playing Albin during their Minneapolis engagement. He delivered an engaging workshop on the character development process.

What is the SpotLight Musical Theatre Program?

Created to celebrate students who participate and excel in their high school musical, SpotLight is the only program of its kind in Minnesota honoring our state's young talent!

SpotLight Awards & Showcase

Throughout the year, skilled evaluators adjudicate SpotLight productions and provide constructive feedback to participating schools and students. Their achievements are celebrated at the SpotLight Showcase, held annually in June at the Orpheum Theatre.

Educators are invited to visit here for information on musical theatre workshops, peer networking and ticket exchanges.
