Anytime performing artists can get together to share their craft and discuss it, everyone improves. There is no program in Minnesota that does this more fully, more beneficially, more educationally and more professionally than the Spotlight Musical Theatre Program. My students love the opportunities it provides to work face-to-face with theatre professionals. We relish the opportunity to learn from what our judges will write about our production. Spotlight has changed the way our performers view preparing a production. In rehearsals, they have started asking "what did the author intend here" and "what interpretation is consistent with our concept?" As an educator and director, I cannot imagine anything better.
